Blame Game Actually Makes You Dull!
Blame Game. I guess most of us have been a spectator, or have been at the receiving end of it, for once in our lives. Surprisingly, you often don’t end up feeling very positive about it. I guess even the person who initiates the blame game feels the same.
Let’s talk of an office situation. Imagine there was a really important article that required proof reading by you. You had done your part, and had passed on to your colleague for re-checking. She passes on the third and gradually it goes through the entire chain. Everyone gives you a clean chit that your work is done and you pass it on. Elated.
Next week when the entire team is summoned for a minor mistake, you see all eyes rest on you. You are dumbfounded. When you look up to your team for support, you see them equally perplexed, and everyone starts pointing fingers at everyone else. Being a part of the group, you also fall prey, and start pointing fingers.
Gradually this becomes a habit. Everytime anything goes wrong, you start pointing fingers at others. You want tea, discover there are no tea leaves. Blame it the maid or mom. While talking to someone, you start fumbling. Possibly you blame it on the weather, or how much you have tired you have been throughout the day.
After a while you realise how much you have become dependant on others. Also, a lot more vulnerable. But in the process, don’t you feel you are becoming less accountable? Aren’t you becoming dull day by day?
Going forward, do you want to survive as a climber all through your life? Don’t you think it is time to take responsibility? For once?
