Take The Plunge

Hello there, folks, how are y’all holding up? Have you been able to move an inch closer to your dreams this week? If so, tell me more about it. As for me, I could say that I have received some validation for all these years of my efforts.

You see it is not every day that you get to receive praise from the world, and when it does happen, it kind of feels odd, yet happy. Okay, let me get to the bottom of this. Two years ago I decided to get a place of my own in a metropolitan city, and since I wasn’t working at a higher position, I could afford an apartment in the city, so I chose one in the suburbs.

I was working remotely at that time which didn’t require me to travel to the town. Thus, the initial days were hunky dory. Trouble started popping up when I decided to switch my job which wanted me back into the office.

After several months of hard work and turmoil, I decided that enough was enough and I could not take this burden on myself anymore. We decided to move towards the city on rent and rent out my current place.

To tell you the truth I was scared to bits when I wanted to rent out the house. There were several reasons for that. Firstly, always being a city person I didn’t particularly know how to deal with the rural folks, how to seek out agents or decide on the monthly rent. I assumed inside of my head that it was going to be something dangerous.

My hands were shaking as I was interacting with the agent. But, you know what? As I gathered enough courage to face my fears, I saw that everything fell into place. My fears vanished, and I was in fact treated with respect when people discovered that I was the owner of the place.

The same was the case with the tenants, and believe me, all the tenants who visited my apartment loved it in one go. They were mesmerised and wanted to pay an advance rent right away.

I myself was so appalled by the results that I could barely speak for a few moments. Later, when I sat all by myself and began introspecting, I discovered that it was no one else but me who was holding me back, and doubting myself. I failed to understand that I did not have any reason to worry as I had with me a stack of proof that spoke of my achievements.

And, all of this happened only because I believed in myself, and had taken the plunge when all odds were against me. Look where I am today. Writing to you all about my accomplishments and achievements.

The key takeaway from this is that we must never be deterred from taking the plunge, if not anything else, it will always guide us towards the right direction, and as my favourite monk Swami Vivekananda would say, “Take risks in your life, if you win, you can lead, if you lose, you can guide.”
