Playing Quidditch Amid Lockdown And Unlock 4?

With the Uddhav Thackeray Government imposing a lockdown yet again in Maharashtra till September 30th, you can only look up to the various relaxations that have been allowed. The continuation of non-essential services, and decisions taken to keep parks open for joggers, seem like a blessing in disguise amid such tumultuous, uncertain and monotonous times. The monotony hits you real hard when you realise that binge streaming ain’t really helping out, and all you want is a breath of fresh air.

Well, this is not too far fetched, and certainly not that difficult if you may ensure from your end that you can treat yourself to a wonderful run outdoors, provided you don’t flout the norms of social distancing and maintain a distance of at least 3 feet from fellow runners. Also, take extra care that you complete your rounds within the stipulated time, and that you are not at the receiving end of the rebukes and snarls of the police.

Let’s say even though you feel happy, jovial and relaxed post running amid this lockdown and unlock phase, yet this freedom from the bondage of four walls comes with a catch and lots of ifs and buts. Standing at this juncture, imagine a bright windy morning when you could literally treat yourself to travelling beneath the green barks of the trees, amid crows, ravens and mynas, just beside the sun, which of course wouldn’t be as dominant, as it would be a cloudy day, and the clouds would be running the show…

If you are lucky enough, and if the rain gods choose to stay a little more, you might even get a chance to travel beside and beneath a rainbow, or maybe more.

In order to ensure a full fledged morning delight, and essentially a fun filled one, and also one to you free from the mental shackles of boredom, all you need to do is get a broomstick and by heart some verses of J K Rowling, where she mentions about the rules of Quidditch, and its pros and cons. Also, it’d be a plus if you knew how to fly, and ably balance yourself between the earth and air. With mere two or three attempts, you shall be good to go.

This practice of yours shall certainly be a novelty, as no one has ever thought of such a practice possibly. You shall soar higher and higher, of course with proper protection in the form of a mask, so that you don’t catch the virus or pollen allergy.

In your giant expedition, while on the way, you might, you might just drop by and wave at the virus, asking it to exit soon from earth, so that the inhabitants of earth may look forward to celebrating Diwali, Christmas, or in the least gorge onto their favourite Vada Pav…
