These lines bear with themselves a magical aura, that’s enough to turn a grumpy and a lazy soul to literally jump off the couch, and actually get to work, or maybe working out. Let’s say that you sweat it out real hard, and the timer says that you gotta pull it along for 20 seconds more to complete the cycle of Sumo squats to calf raise.

Or such scenarios where since morn you were sure to prepare an exotic dish, and when the time actually arrives, you quietly observe that your lazy bones have taken over. And, all those sumptuous meals that could possibly materialise into an all time favourite Thai Curry, or a lip smacking Italian Red sauce pasta goes down the drain. Blimey. Your tiny miny lazy bones try to coax you that the bed or the couch is much comforting.

Cleaning is also perhaps destined to go the same way. Once you declare and count on your preference towards the couch and bed, all your OCD goes for a toss. Is there any convincing force on earth that could coax you into getting back and addressing your priorities?

On checking your playlist, you discover that you have your songs segregated on the basis of cleaning, cooking and working out. Yet, all of them seem to be too passe to wake you up from your beloved and reliable state of laziness.

Eager to find some hope and motivation, you begin scrolling down endlessly. Charlie Puth? Nope too loud to remind oneself of the old normal. Taylor Swift? Nostalgia again. Stevie Wonder? Too romantic for cleaning and cooking. Oh wait! What if there’s a soothing tune flowing in with the name of By The Rivers of Babylon?

Yeah, and that too a big time one.

When you hear the lyrics that say’

“By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down
Yeah, we wept, when we remembered Zion
There the wicked
Carried us away in captivity
Required from us a song
Now how shall we sing the Lord's song in a strange land?”
This song by Boney M refers to the repressive society where people are longing for freedom and they are being expressive about their basic rights, where they even mention themselves being in captivity and are making every effort to free themselves of the same.
Now, if this cannot serve as enough motivation to work, I don’t know what else could.
